Womens Formal wear for evening award ceremony?
I have my college's award ceremony to attend in a few weeks and have no idea what to wear. The dress code just says: Formal. I have broken my leg a few weeks ago and do not feel comfortable wearing a dress at the moment, would a pair of trousers and a pretty top and shrug do for the award ceremony? any feedback would be helpful :) Thanks!

- You could wear a ball gown, to cover the cast.
- yes wear what you feel comfortable in and just have a nice time
- Poor you with the broken leg! So long as it's "formal" dress code and not black tie, you could wear a glitzy top and trousers. If the top is sleeveless or you're conscious of your arms wear a shrug. Otherwise, I'd suggest a long tunic top with slim cut black trousers or black leggings, metallics like gold or silver are instantly glamorous. Wallis have some in each colour for £60. No need for a shrug with this top, its speaks for itself! http://www.wallis.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=40&viewAllFlag=false&catalogId=20551&storeId=12557&categoryId=125401&parent_category_rn=47211&productId=1402706&langId=-1&tduid=b24447c3989217a0d66a3cfdf1172f70
