- Your husband need to wear a tuxedo, YOU need to wear the shortest mini dress you can find, wear it like Britney Spears! The host will love seeing your exposed..........Oh, Oh, Hot Dog!
- Highland wear sounds like kilts to me, but that would only be for the men. I think that if you wore a formal gown, you would be okay. Maybe you can call the person giving the event to ask. By it saying "formal or highland wear", I would guess that it is formal, but men can wear highland dress if they feel it's appropriate.
- It's black tie or if you're scottish the fully Scottish dress - you know sporan, kilt, waistcoat, socks, bow tie.
- formal wear = black tie.
- These may help. http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=formal%20evening%20wear%20&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi http://images.google.co.uk/images?um=1&hl=en&q=highland+wear http://images.google.co.uk/images?um=1&hl=en&q=black+tie+wear
- You seem to have the option of wearing black tie or tartan. The first is probably easier. You - on the other hand - have a choice. These days I have attended many black tie affairs where women wore very dressy cocktail length dresses. Or you can just go for traditional long gown.
- Black tie.
