How should i do my hair for the formal wear competition?

I am going to be in a pageant. I have know idea what to do with my hair for the formal wear compeition. My hair is long. About to the middle of my back. It is red. I have NO bangs. It is very thick. If you can post links that would be great!!!

1. flat iron your hair straight or soft wavy curls.....do not wear it up....and anyways that wouldn't look right in a pageant.....
