Formal wear?

Silly question i know but i'm tryin to decide what i should wear tonight on this formal cruise in Seattle. we can wear indian clothes or formal attire. does this mean I can wear a suit without lookin like a goof ball or would u not go that way? I personally think a suit looks so damn good on me, over anything actually...would wear indian clothes but id have to wear sandals and i cant dance in sandals lol so nice dark gray suit with silver tie? or just nice shirt w/slacks or indian cothes? thanks.
