  4. my perfect wedding would be just marrying the guy i'm inlove it doesn't matter where or how big or small the wedding is as long as its with the man i want to spend forever and eternity with.............. *sighs*
  5. Mine is very similar to yours. I have ALWAYS thought a big deal was a waste of money- put that towards a house or kids college. Vegas, baby reception with friends & family
  6. Mine was perfect (for me). I was never the little girl to dream up her ideal wedding. I actually never thought about it until I got engaged. It was outside in the fall at a Bed & Breakfast in the village of Salado, TX, under a 100+ year old oak tree. There were candles hanging from the tree and the weather was perfect. The colors were several different shade of pink/ burgundy. I chose bridesmaid dresses that they could wear again and again (burgundy colored), the guys (including my hubby) all wore their military (nice, dressy) attire. We had a reception there, rode off in a horse carriage at the end, and then stayed at the bed & breakfast. These were our cakes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12379977@N04/3314136536/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/12379977@N04/3314135284/ Here was the location: http://www.inn-at-salado.com/ Thank you for the memories this morning!!!!!!! : ) ETA: Me too Jamie!!! 3 months and needing some champane soooooo bad prior to walking down the isle.
  7. Bride, Groom, Officiant. Small intimate location with candle light. Very close family and friends in attendance. Clothes that you both feel pretty and attractive in. Lots of love and best wishes.
  8. I think my wedding was great! It wasn't *perfect* but it was pretty close. We had it outside at a local park officiated by our magistate judge. I wore a white dress with apple-colored accents. My bridesmaids dresses as well as the groomsmen's vests were apple. It was about 80-85 degress and it was just beautiful! No fancy decorations or anything, family did the DJing and pictures/video (yeah, I'm STILL waiting for those & it's been almost 2 years!!) After the ceremony and after we ate, it was like a regular party at a park. It was great, playing horseshoes, beer pong, water fights....nice and casual; not fancy & stuffy. The only thing that would've made my wedding better was if I was able to get drunk....BUT I was 3 month pregnant so I could not.
  9. Well I am getting married on March 21st of this year which isn't to far away. Location: My parents house in the country Time: At 4pm When: March 21st no special day just something we decided Attire: My white wedding dress that has a country feel to it. To me it is beautiful and it only took 3 dresses to try on and I had it. Jewelry: My star necklace and my heart bracelet. Shoes: nothing fancy since the wedding is in the country and my dress will cover my feet. Hubby's attire: Black cowboy tux top, wrangler pants, cowboy boots My ring: is already sitting here. It is beautiful has a few diamonds. It's a bridal set. Grooms ring: http://www.titaniumrings.com/DPBlunareclipseA.html This is his and we already have it. Honeymoon: well we would stay in a hotel by the beach but not sure that will happen right now we will just set it for a later date. My bouquets, flowers, corsages and boutonniere's are small white roses with daises. Bouquets are just daises. Center pieces are glass hearts with floating candles inside. We will be standing under an arbor my dad built. The colors are white and pink.
  10. Location: Kildeer, IL - Concorde Banquets (already booked) :-) Time: Wedding = 5:20-5:50pm; Reception = 6pm When: June 11, 2010 Attire: A beautiful strapless, sweetheart neckline, assymetrical trumpet skirt, white wedding gown by WTOO (already purchased). Jewelry: Just my engagement ring, wedding band after ceremony, and whatever necklace my fiance gets me for the occasion. Shoes: White, high heels. No less than 4"...that's how I roll. LOL. Hubby's attire: A black suit with white shirt, white tie (not a bow tie!), white vest. Honeymoon: Riviera Maya Mexico Basically, anywhere, anytime, in anything...as long as I get to celebrate the start of my new life with the man I love and all of our family and friends.
  11. Basically my day will stay the same (ceremony and reception location) expect with superstar power. I would love to get married at the Hayti Cultural Center. An old A.M.E Zion Church converted into African-American hertiage center in Durham. It has a beautiful chapel with stain glass and reception hall. http://www.hayti.org/facility-rentals/ I will wear a soft lavender cocktail dress with red/plum colored slingback pumps designed by Kroto from Project Runway. Similar to this style, http://www.brides.com/myweddingplanner/myimages/detail/5780861. My hair in soft wavy curls pulled into a loose ponytail. At the ceremony I would recite one of my poems and have Jaki Shelton-Greene do a reading. The NC Piedmont Poet Laureate is the business! At the reception keeping in touch with the Hayti's heritage I want dancers to do the "Coming to America" entrance dance while my hubby and I walk in with rose petals on the ground after them. If I can go back in time to grab Lauryn Hill, pre-drug and mental illness, to sing "Tell Him" while my hubby and I dance. If not I'll take a regular soul sister singer to do it. I want the guys responsible for Cake Love (in DC) to do our wedding cup cakes, cake, and homemade ice cream. While eating on Chef Garvin's exquisite soul southern cuisine buffet-style. The linens would be lavender with claret and plum detailed china. No silly guest book, but I do want a photo book with pictures of my fiance and I, guests can write messages around the photos or back of the book. DJ D Quaid can spin the records all night with the early 90s R&B hip hop music. Classic Jodeci and Mary J. Or a live jazz band pulling out those hits. Our after party reception will be at the Franklin Hotel's bar on Franklin Street. Southern, classy, and heritage focused just the way we like it. ;) However, this is a total and complete fantasy. Oh well it's nice to dream.
  12. Courthouse. Dinner afterwards at a nice restaurant, perhaps the Johnny's steakhouse here in Omaha, NE (Movie "About Schmidt" was filmed there with Jack Nicholson) with just the immediate family a few close friends. My husband in his nice suit that he already has hanging in his closet or if he prefers, his dress blues/military blues. Me in a nice, simple dress....nothing fantastic..... The two things that I only cared about regarding my wedding day was that my dad walked me down the aisle and that I walked away as my husband's wife.
  13. If you got a keg waiting for you outside the church it is perfect.
  14. Location: Somewhere on the waterfront. It's at a beach when I see it! When: Sometime in the summer, very pretty, early evening (about 5pm) Colors: All shades and hues of blue! And Ivory of course! My attire: Something light and earthy that doesn't come all the way to my feet. Longer hair in loose curls down my back but some pulled back out of my face. Jewelry: A pendant that has been passed down among the women in my family for several generations hung around my neck with a beautiful piece of blue ribbon. A gorgeous blue anklet and toe ring that would match my bridesmaids! And some beautiful blue dangle earrings. Shoes: None! His attire: A black suit with a white shirt and black tie. My ring: Something vintage and silver! His ring: Don't know, whatever he picks out! Reception: Same location as we held the ceremony at. All sorts of music. Some sappy slow songs, some fun dance love songs, some crazy dance songs, and some songs to just listen to! All food homemade like a cookout except a bit different. Do things like grilled chicken, shrimp, and steak. Maybe burgers! Who knows? Lots of side dishes and appetizers! Loads of dancing and playing sand soccer and football. A bonfire later that night with smores and stories! (That would be the time for toasts if anyone wanted to make any) Honeymoon: A few days after the wedding with the families at the beach and then off to Venice, Italy! Some random tidbits would be to have the man who raised me that I consider my father but who isn't really walk me down the aisle. I would also walk to "Beautiful (Everything)" by Lifehouse. And my mom would sing at the wedding! Oh! And I'd get my bridesmaids and I to learn a choreographed dance just to let everyone have some laughs! (I'm from the south so I'm all about entertainment and hospitality!) It wouldn't be large... We'd invite maybe 75-100 people and not expect half of them to come because they just wouldn't. And we'd rent a big beach house so everyone could stay there instead of having to get hotel rooms! Um... I'd have 5 bridesmaids (I know who they'd be too!) And I know who will be my flower girl because she'll be about 6 when we finally get married! We won't have a ring bearer because there aren't any little ones in our families that are boys who are old enough to be a ring bearer! I'd worry about them swallowing the rings and choking! We'd make it more about our families than about us. It would follow our personalities though and be laid back but still classy. Oh! For our cake we would do cupcakes with one really large cupcake at the top to cut for pictures! And for his groom's cake it would be something shaped like an XBox 360 or PS2! Holy cow that was a lot! And we're not even getting married yet! LOL!
