How do I get out of this sticky situation at my girlfriend's sister's wedding?

We've been dating for 2 months, we hit it off like you wouldn't believe. We talk for hours on the phone each day and seem perfect for each other. The bad thing is Ive been lying about my height. My online dating profile says 5'9", we have had like 7 or 8 dates so far. I always wear 3 inch lifts. I am really only 5'6", the same height as her. I am going to be in her sister's wedding. We have a little time together but really hit it off so I'm in. But all the men who are accompanying the ladies have to wear this silly white suit with slip ons. The slips ons that came on for me are a little narrow and the lifts won't fit right. I have tried different lifts and it is not going to work. To make matters worse, the ladies are all wearing high heels. My girlfriend has hers. I was with her when she picked up the dress and the costume and they are 4 maybe 5 inches. I never seen her in high heels before. You can tell what is going to happen at the wedding. SHE is going to be like 5 inches taller than me, it will be embarrassing, she thinks I am 5'9". I've been considering not going, playing sick or something. Advice?

  1. Well your first mistake was telling a lie. You cannot start a healthy relationship with a lie. If you care about this women talk to her about it now , don't wait until its to late and you make matters worse. I would try and make a joke about it to feel her out to see how she handles that type of stuff. Either way good luck with your event!
  2. You moron. You shouldn't have lied in the first place. Be proud of your height. Now you'll have to tell her the truth. If she really likes you like you think she might then she'll not care. Otherwise say goodbye. There is nothing wrong with being shorter than your girl. My fiance and I are exactly the same height so when I wear heels he is shorter than me but we don't care. lol besides it's perfect boob height for him.
  3. How did you end up being in a wedding of someone you just met? That's stranger than the lifts. Just tell her, it probably won't matter. If it does, change your profile to reflect your actual height.
  4. Hello Dear ~ Two months and you're already in her sister's wedding? Allritey ... in 5 inch heels? Something smells funny, but in the off chance that you're not really a troll but are instead only wearing Troll aftershave, this is my honest answer: It's time to come clean, because if you don't tell her now, when WILL YOU!? On your wedding night? Pick up the phone and CALL HER! Love, Auntie
  5. This sounds like a joke!!! Are u serious you lied about your height?
  6. She already knows you are not 5-9. She knew it the first time she met you and you were wearing 3 inch lifts. You aren't fooling anyone. She just doesn't care about your height and she isn't going to bring it up, as this is obviously a huge insecurity of yours. The real concern here is that you are in the wedding at all.
  7. Okay - Like Auntie says, on the off chance that this is real, I will suggest that since she will have on 5" heels, even if you wore the lifts, she'd still be taller than you, so just don't try to wear them, and she will think that the height difference is due to the outrageously high heels she is wearing and think nothing of it. Then.....here's the tricky part.....never put the stupid lifts in again. EVER! This is the perfect time to re-set the whole situation, no need to confess anything, just stop wearing them. P.S. 5'6" is not even that short. Personally, I wouldn't call a guy short @ 5'6".
