Women Wedding Suits

What do i wear to a wedding as a guest when i am a plus size woman?

i am attending a wedding in 3 weeks. i am 5'5 and very overweight. i can't wear anything that shows my legs because i am very fat in the legs as well. what are some things i can wear? the wedding is in a catholic church at 4pm followed by reception at a reception hall in a different location. i was thinking of wearing a suit, but don't know where to get a nice suit for a plus size woman

  1. You should be able to wear a long dress.
  2. My mom has the same problem and she has a lovely outfit that suits. It is pants, but very shimmery, nice flowy fabric. The blouse is long and almost dress-like. I don't know if the Catholics require dresses on women? If so, go for long skirt.
  3. You could wear a maxi dress - Lane Bryant makes some dressy ones. If you don't like your arms you could wear a shrug or light sweater with it. You could also do a pantsuit , perhaps with a short sleeve blazer? Try eBay as well.
  4. a long black slimming dress or nice dress pants khaki maybe with a very pretty purple blouse or teal with pointy flats so you don't get tired in heels
  5. Is there a Catherines or Lane Bryant near you? They sell some very nice clothing. Or you can try Womenwithin.com. They also have a large selection of plus size clothing. Good luck! I know how it feels trying to find something nice in plus size.
  6. A pants outfit would be very nice. Matching pants and jacket outfit would be perfect with a cute tank underneath, lacey or beaded at the neck line! Darker colored, it's more slimming. Like a purple or navy, but be sure that the tank is a lighter colored, like a white or yellow, remember, it's a wedding! You gotta have some light color!
  7. Anything but white or off-white. A suit would be fine if that's what you prefer, choose an in-between colour, not black, not navy, not white or cream. If you can't find a suit then wear a long skirt or dress.
  8. If you have black dress pants and have time, find a pattern at fabric stores for a tunic top, let sales personnel help you with style and adding some bling--us big girls like bling also, pair with some dressy flats and accessories, basic black is always good with long strands of pearls or gold/silver chains and bracelets. Find a good well-recommended seamstress, she should be able to make this in a very short while. Go for a color, purple, red, whatever goes with your coloring, pink, blue, mauve, aqua. I like the black with some beading around the neckline and say three quarter length sleeves, most good fabric stores sell beading, lace, etc. by the yard, some also have jeweled appliques that can be added. Again, go with store personnel help.
  9. Wear a long dress :) Just because you are plus size doesn't mean you can't be beautiful. Big is Beautiful:D
