How much would it cost to have a ladies suit made? how much would it cost to have a satin ladies tailored pants suit made if I provided the satin? I want a dress suit made to match my wedding dress and I have enough material left from what I gave my dressmaker. She doesn't make tailored suits though. Ladies: how would you feel about a wedding ceremony where the man wore the veil? I have never been fond of the fact that when the veil is lifted, the traditional way of thinking is that the male now "possesses" the female in the marriage. Ladies- What is you dream wedding? Mine would be on a beach with clear water somewhere tropical. We would get married on a pier and after he "Kissed the bride" we would run and jump off holding hands. Ladies Brown or Black shoes, that is the question for a guy? The problem is I'm a size 22 but my bust is HUGE and for that reason I can not fit into a wedding dress. I can't even get a 26 sized up! I'm so stressed, I have already lost 25lbs. I work out 4-5 days a week. I know I will always be plus size "Size Sexy"! That is not the issue I luv having curves! More wedding drama -What would you do? I asked here about my maids going barefoot at our outdoor garden ceremony. One suggestion was the boys wear flipflops. My FI mentioned it to his brother this was his response to me "I was talking to my brother as a friend and as the best man offering my opinion as such. How do I get out of this sticky situation at my girlfriend's sister's wedding? We've been dating for 2 months, we hit it off like you wouldn't believe. We talk for hours on the phone each day and seem perfect for each other. The bad thing is Ive been lying about my height. My online dating profile says 5'9", we have had like 7 or 8 dates so far. I always wear 3 inch lifts. I am really only 5'6", the same height as her. I am going to be in her sister's wedding. We have a little time together but really hit it off so I'm in. But all the men who are accompanying the ladies have to wear this silly white suit with slip ons. The slips ons that came on for me are a little narrow and the lifts won't fit right. I have tried different lifts and it is not going to work. To make matters worse, the ladies are all wearing high heels. My girlfriend has hers. I was with her when she picked up the dress and the costume and they are 4 maybe 5 inches. I never seen her in high heels before. You can tell what is going to happen at the wedding. SHE is going to be like 5 inches taller than me, it will be embarrassing, she thinks I am 5'9". I've been considering not going, playing sick or something. Advice?

I want a Gold Princess(Fairy tale wedding) what colors for the bridesmaids? My wedding is next July. I have a champagne dress with a catherdal train and gold detail. The men will were ivory suits but I have dont want to but my ladies in latte, taupe nor brown. What color scheme would be best? I am open to all ideas.

What is your idea or ideas of the "perfect" wedding? It's about 8 a.m. in the morning, and everything is quiet in my world. So I thought I would post this question just for the fun of it. Attire:Wearing a lovely red dress, that is kind of short, spaghetti straps, and has a swinging skirt. Lots of sparkle in the fabric. Jewelry: Earrings, necklace, and bracelet of rubies (set in platinum). Shoes: A pair of strappy heels. Hubby's attire: A black suit with a red shirt, and nice tie. Can anyone think of some meaningful replacements or substitutes for the garter at a wedding reception? My bride is very reserved and we aren't going to follow such a revealing tradition. I can imagine how embarrassing it will be for me to be lifting her dress in a crowd of people. We've had several suggestions from coworkers and family, but haven't found one that would suit us. She is still tossing a bouquet, and we want to find something comparable, or meaningful that the groom (me) can throw. These could be things that I could take off of her, or from her. Of course, these are also things which might bring luck to the single guy who catches it. Suggestions so far: my little black book (past girlfriends #'s, which I don't have), lady's handkerchief, baseball glove (?), her bracelet, her tiara, etc. Any ideas will be more than appreciated. Great ideas so far. Thanks. But because my bride (she's 25, btw) has vericose veins, she definitely doesn't want to show any leg. And because of past abuses, she doesn't want any object that can be sexual in nature or meaning. Nothing prudish about that. It would be hard to deal with for anyone in her position.

Ladies, can you help me with my dressing problem? I was wondering if this tie would be acceptable with a white dress shirt and black suit. Usually, I see white ties against a black dress shirt. Do you think it would be "tacky" if I had the groomsmen at our wedding wear...? Do you think it would be "tacky" if I had the groomsmen at our wedding wear nice black dress pants and a dress shirt & tie that matched with what the ladies are wearing? The reason is because we live in Texas and are going to be getting married in Texas and then have a small reception (maybe like 50-75 people) But then within a weekend or 2 I was going to have a reception in Wisconsin (where my fiance' and I grew up and the majority of our friends and family live) I want the whole wedding party to wear what they wore for the wedding day. There are 2 groomsmen that would come down to Texas for the wedding and then be at the reception in Wisconsin too. My problem is that I don't want them to have to rent the tux for two weekends. So my thought was that they could all get the same dress shirt in the same color, same tie, and then black dress pants. The wedding is going to be pretty casual and smaller. Most men take off there suit/tux coat anyway cuz it gets hot. Please give me your input or suggestions. Thank you:)

How do I debauch obsolete wedding traditions and still have a nice wedding ceremony? I'm newly engaged and for the first time in my life I'm actually thinking about a wedding ceremony.. I don't want to wear white, or wear a veil, carry a bouquet of flowers to throw at some single ladies, or a long dress that costs hundreds of dollars that I will never wear again.. I don't want my father to "give me away".. And I kind of feel it's sort of unfair that I get to wear a skimpy dress in hot weather and my boyfriend should have to wear a full suit. What are "bridesmaids", "best men", etc. etc. for anyway? How the heck do I have a nice wedding without all the patriarchal crap?

teh question of should Lindsey W parents pay for wedding.....? I missed this question but thought I could give some info..... I married first time around in a church with traditional dress and 3 bridesmaids and1 page boy and a buffet reception in a hall for.....just under ....£1000. in 1998 my second wedding just 6 mths ago cost about £760. I again had a traditional dress, buffet reception in a pub and all 4 of my kids wore traditional wear. How did I do it? well: charity shops for clothes, shoes, bouquet,tiara etc. I paid £55 for my dress, £7.50 for my daughters, £3 for my shoes (never worn!)etc,etc We paid £80 for the pub venue and the buffet cost £50. My sons suit cost £8 Actually, my husband cost £300 to dress but I dressed me and my 4 kids for £170 in total!!! It was lovely, we all looked great not like old bag ladies. my advice to anyone is do it for yourself..... you won't owe anyone anything then. Being married is about standing on your own two feet... and remember: there are some people who wish their parents were alive.

What dress code do I write on my wedding invitations? I would like my male guests to wear dark suits but not a tux, I would like the ladies to wear pretty dresses which are between knee length and 3/4 length.Or perhaps a blouse and pretty skirt. I don't want to say cocktail because then the dresses may be too short. I also don't want to say formal because people might think they have to wear long dresses. The wedding begins at 4pm and is being held in a very structured looking garden. It finishes about 9pm. It will be summer and the days will be long so most of that time will still be sunny.

Ladies, a fahion Q? I'm going to meet about her entire family this weekend at her cousin's wedding. It's a pretty big deal, and I can tell how seriously she's taking it. She's pretty nervous, so I would rather take my outfit into my own hands, for multiple reasons. What do you think I should go with? I plan on a suit, but what colors? Ladies,,how many of you have gone clubbing with your girlfriends and got a little " wild"? I recentley went to a club, saw about 6 women, corporate types, all dressed in business skirts, suits, heels,,all looked very calssy, sexy..as the night wore on , music got nastier, the more the gals danced. did alot of hose on hose, skirts hiked up,,was hot,,alot of them had on wedding bands,,sooo..just a girls night out,,or do alot of you ladies,,umm do this??
